Tell us about Zend. What was the inspiration behind creating Zend, and what is its mission?

Zend is a delivery company I started after working in logistics for over 20 years. I saw opportunities to build a service that’s both efficient and environmentally conscious. Our mission is to make the delivery process smoother while also reducing our impact on the environment. We believe we can set a new standard in the logistics industry by prioritizing sustainability alongside customer satisfaction.

What impact is Zend striving to make?

Zend aims to create a positive environmental impact by rethinking the way deliveries are done. We want to reduce carbon emissions, cut down on waste, and use fewer resources overall. Beyond this, we hope to inspire other companies to see that sustainable practices aren’t just possible in logistics, they’re essential to the future of our industry.

What positive impacts has Zend already achieved?

We’ve already made strides in lowering emissions through optimized delivery routes and consolidated trips. We’ve also built a strong reputation with our customers by emphasizing transparency and reliability, showing that sustainability can go hand-in-hand with excellent service. It’s encouraging to see these efforts being valued by both customers and our team.

Could you share some future plans or initiatives Zend has in store to further enhance its impact?

With our fleet already fully electric, Zend is focused on further reducing emissions by improving our operational efficiency. We’re investing in advanced route optimization technology to minimize the distance traveled and energy used in each delivery. Additionally, we’re developing services to help our customers lower their own carbon footprints by offering sustainable packaging options and promoting consolidated deliveries. Our goal is to make it easy for customers to choose low-impact delivery solutions, aligning their logistics needs with a smaller environmental footprint. Through these combined efforts, we aim to reduce emissions across the entire delivery chain.

Finally, what advice would you give to other businesses and brands aiming to become more sustainable and socially responsible in their operations?

My advice is to prioritize sustainability as a core part of your business, not just an add-on. Start by identifying areas where you can reduce waste or emissions and look for incremental changes that can add up over time. Keep in mind that sustainability is a journey, it’s about continuous improvement, not perfection. And be open to collaboration; sometimes the best solutions come from working together with partners who share the same goals and vision.
