Reshma Masud
Dubai based, Post Graduate in Mass Communication and Journalism with a work experience of 7 years.
Her Passion – includes being eco-friendly and taking all possible steps to lead a sustainable life.
Her Inspiration – is from her parents who encouraged her on her eco-friendly journey and her little one Mia, who inspired her to do more.
Her Belief – ‘Small acts, Large impacts’.
“I try my best to avoid single-use plastics, be it at home or on the move. I have a plastic-free kitchen with glass/stainless steel/wooden containers, cookware and cutlery. We reuse paper bills from grocery shopping for fun educational activities and also buy pre-loved toys.”
Easiest Shifts – Reusable bottles, cloth bags for shopping and coconut fiber scrub pads for dishwashing.
Toughest Shifts – The main thing that makes it difficult for me to be eco-friendly is the lack of adequate recycling centres and also unavailability of eco-friendly products at affordable prices.
New Shifts Reshma is Working on – I would like to document each shift I make and use it to motivate anyone who is taking their first steps of Sustainability. I have started preparations for my all-natural cleaner with orange peel. I plan to install a water filter system at home to stop usage of bottled water and also switch to plastic-free sanitary napkins. Mia shows interest in being plastic-free and eco-friendly, which makes me feel good that I am able to pass on these life lessons to the next generation…the future caretakers of our Mother Earth
