Meet the Mind Behind the Projects: Our Project Manager’s Story

A Purpose-Driven Career Shift

I come from a client management background, and over the past few years, I’ve felt increasingly drawn to the social impact space. While my career equipped me with strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, I began seeking work that felt more purposeful and more closely aligned with my personal values.

Managing sustainability projects became a natural progression for me, allowing me to apply my professional experience while deepening my understanding of environmental and social responsibility. Through this transition, I’ve found greater fulfilment in contributing to initiatives that create measurable, positive change—while continuing to learn, grow, and add value in a space driven by impact rather than outputs alone.

Practical Sustainability in Action

What drew me to Shift Eco was its practical approach to sustainability, focusing on actionable solutions like eco-friendly gifting alternatives and employee engagement workshops.

The purpose resonates with me because sustainability becomes meaningful only when it’s embedded into everyday decisions – from procurement to employee awareness and leadership mindset. That cultural shift is what creates lasting impact.

Sustainability as a Foundation, Not an Add-On

Sustainability is approached as the foundation of the project, not an add-on. From the outset, we as a team align on the broader environmental and social outcomes a project should support, ensuring every stage reflects those priorities.

For product-led projects, the focus remains on ethical sourcing, clean materials, and supporting handmade production and artisan livelihoods, so sustainability stays central from concept to delivery.

Creating Change Through Education and Consistency

It looks like education, conversation, and gradual mindset shifts.

It can mean helping clients see the value of sustainable giveaways, or designing initiatives that make employees more sustainability-aware.The key is consistency, not one-off campaigns.

Inspiring Action Through Engagement

One memorable project was an SDGs workshop with a client, where we highlighted their current focus areas and ran an interactive group exercise to explore what more could be done. The attendees’ energy and ideas were incredible – in just three hours, it was clear they were inspired to drive meaningful, sustainable change within the company.

Shifting from Cost to Long-Term Value

Moving from “cost-focused” to “value-focused.”

Sustainability shouldn’t be seen as an added expense – it’s brand equity, risk mitigation, employee engagement, and long-term resilience. Once companies view it strategically rather than transactionally, real progress begins.

Embedding Sustainability Across Teams

We start with clear alignment, ensuring every team understands the sustainability benchmarks, from responsible practices to impact-focused decisions.

Embedding these standards across all teams ensures sustainability isn’t isolated but integrated into every part of the project.

Creating Ripple Effects Through Small Decisions

Knowing that even small corporate decisions – a gift, a workshop, a procurement change – can influence hundreds or thousands of people.

Being part of a team that helps businesses shift towards responsible practices is motivating because the impact multiplies. We’re not just delivering products; we’re influencing culture.
